Former CIO Luc Verhelst has been appointed national anti-fraud coordinator at the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium.
Luc Verhelst, who began his career in the Belgian army as an IT project manager, moved to Kind & Gezin as CIO in 1991. In the spring of 2001, he joined Christelijke Mutualiteit LCM, before moving to BNP Paribas Fortis bank five years later as director of information management risk. After holding senior IT management positions at Truvo, Isabel and the European Medicines Agency, he focused more on security. He was cyber security advisor at Acerta and What’s Cooking.
Luc Verhelst also founded the MIT Club, an association of CIOs, of which he was chairman for eight years.
