Spain’s Rocío Lorenzo will take over from John Porter (68) on 1 November. Porter joined Telenet as CEO 13 years ago.
Telenet Vlaanderen, as it was originally known, was founded in 1996, but for a quarter of a century there has not been a Belgian at the helm. In 2001, the Dutchman Duco Sickinghe became CEO. Twelve years ago, the Australian John Porter took over. And now it will be a Spaniard.
Rocío Lorenzo worked for 14 years at the Boston Consulting Group as managing director. In this role, she had already advised Telenet on major strategic change processes, including the crucial acquisition of BASE in 2016. At Liberty, Telenet’s main shareholder, she joined in 2021 as Chief Customer Officer (CCO) and Senior Vice President of the Latin American division. Since 2024, she has been CEO of Cable & Wireless Panama
