At the 22nd Digital Society Awards, Mechelen’s Citizen Service Desk was voted the best eGovernment project. This involves the digital transformation of 12 citizen services. Mechelen also won the award for best collaboration.
The city of Ghent also scored a double victory. With its Smart Spatial Planning project, it won the awards for the most sustainable project and best Smart City project.
Initiator Agoria also presented awards in the categories of user-friendliness, profitability and innovation. These went to BRUCE (Brussels Embraces You) from i-City, the Agentic AI project Verstrengd Toezicht Subsidies from the Flemish Finance department, and the UIT exchange platform from Publiq/the Flemish Government, respectively.
More than 230 guests attended the event organised by TMAB at the Africa Palace in Tervuren. The keynote speech was given by Olivier Van den Eynden on Close the Gap and his digital projects in Kenya.
