Partena Professional, Belgium’s second-largest payroll provider, is launching a completely new payroll platform in partnership with the Walloon software company Odoo.
Partena Professional processes the administration for around 920,000 payslips every month. The partnership with Odoo is intended to help dethrone SD Worx. Odoo will take a commission on every payslip processed. Pinckaers does not wish to disclose how much revenue he expects, but refers to it as ‘the biggest contract ever, so significant that for the first time in Odoo’s history I have agreed to sign an exclusivity contract’. The Walloon company will therefore not be partnering with other payroll service providers to develop a similar platform.
‘Our largest clients today have around 5,000 to 10,000 end users. With Partena, we’re talking about hundreds of thousands of users,’ says Pinckaers in the financial newspaper De Tijd. He also regards the partnership as a commercial lever, as Odoo will be able to approach Partena Professional’s customers with other software and services. Belgium may well carry more weight in Odoo’s figures from now on. At present, our country accounts for just 10 per cent of turnover. Pinckaers added that his company has grown by 50 per cent since the start of the year and is targeting turnover of 900 million euros for the full year. According to internal estimates, Odoo could reach a valuation of 10 billion euros this year. Last February, the Walloon Brabant-based company was valued at 8.6 billion euros in a share sale.
