Wim Verhavert has recently been promoted to Chief Information Officer at Antwerp University Hospital. He had already been ICT Director there for almost four years.
Wim Verhavert trained as a philosopher but found his way into the world of data fairly quickly. For four years, he worked as a software analyst and developer at Pesys, a subcontractor to Euroclear.
In 2007, he was recruited by Natuurpunt as an ICT manager, before moving to Materialise three years later as a usability engineer. He was subsequently recruited by KU Leuven as a user experience researcher and also worked for the Leuven-based usability company U-Sentric. He has been heading the IT department at UZA since October 2022.
