The CDO after-work event at Kinepolis was a resounding success, featuring a screening of the film “Dust”. The film tells the story of the demise of Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products in 2001, reliving the company’s final day. More fiction than fact, so we invited protagonist Jo Lernout to give his version of the story. It turns out that the now 78-year-old entrepreneur is still just as resilient as he was in the early days of L&HSP in late 1989. At the time, the listed company was valued at 10 billion euros, whilst Microsoft bought an 8 per cent stake.
The exclusive evening was attended by around 50 guests, including many prominent CXOs and sponsors of the CDO Awards gala.
Following the after-work event earlier this year at Fednot, this was yet another highly successful evening in the run-up to the 8th CDO Awards on 22 October at the Docks event hall in Brussels. www.cdooftheyear.be
