Luc Verhelst is set to join BNP Paribas Fortis. He will work within the CISO’s security remit and be responsible for the GRC remit, and more specifically for Third-Party Risk Management.
Luc Verhelst brings a wealth of experience to the role. He began his career with the Belgian Ministry of Defence, where he became an IT project manager. In 1991, he joined Kind en Gezin, rising through the ranks to become Chief Information Officer. In 2010, he took on the same role at the LCM Christian Mutual Insurance Society. Five years later, he joined BNP Paribas Fortis for the first time, then as Director of Information Management Risk. A year later, however, he was recruited by Truvo as CIO. Four years later, he joined Isabel as Chief Operations Officer.
Luc Verhelst also lived in London for a considerable time, where he was CIO at the European Medicines Agency. Until recently, he was also National Fraud Coordinator at the Centre for Cybersecurity in Belgium.
