At a packed awards ceremony during the Cybersecurity Europe event in Brussels, Michel Verwaerde, Country Leader Belux at network and cloud provider GTT, was named IT Person of the Year by Computable.be. The runner-up was Katja Schipperheiijn, author, keynote speaker and co-founder of The Learning Minded Organization.
Michel Verwaerde is undoubtedly one of the leading figures in the ICT world. He worked for T-Systems, a division of Deutsche Telekom, for around 10 years. He moved to easyNet in 2011, where he was promoted to country manager. EasyNet was acquired by Interoute, which in turn was taken over by GTT. Michel Verwaerde has always attached great importance to relationships with customers and suppliers and is therefore one of the most empathetic figures in the Belgian ICT sector.
