Peter Vermeylen has been recruited as IT Director by Umicore subsidiary The Extra Mile. He will be guiding the digitalisation and data initiatives as IT Director.

Until recently, Peter Vermeylen was Chief Information Officer at Antwerp University Hospital (UZA), which earned him a nomination for CIO of the Year 2024 last year. Prior to that, he spent two years as Group CIO at Ardena, after having held senior IT positions at Cerba Research and managing European IT at Graphic Packaging International. He also held senior IT roles at LMS International and Pioneer Europe. And remarkably, in 2011-2012, he worked for a time at Umicore as head of the IT Expertise Centre.
