Carlo Verdoliva is leaving TomTom after 31 years to join Airties, which provides Wi-Fi and connectivity solutions for telecom operators.
Carlo Verdoliva joined TeleAtlas in Ghent in 1994 and worked his way up from cartographer to senior manager of network telecom and security. After TomTom acquired TeleAtlas in 2008, he first became head of IT strategy and architecture and later responsible for governance, risk and compliance.
At Airties, he will be Head of Information Security & GRC. Airties is originally a Turkish company but has its headquarters in Paris. The management team includes another Belgian, Bart Vercammen, who started his career at Alcatel. In the summer of 2007, he joined Technicolor, which was acquired by Airties twelve years later. Bart Vercammen is executive vice president and general manager of new ventures. Airties still has a branch in Edegem, near Antwerp.
