Kris Vervaet joined KBC Bank and Insurance in the spring of 2024. A year later, he became Chief Information Officer at KBC Global Services, where he led a team of 3,500 people. He has now been promoted to Group CIO.
‘Honoured to step into the role of Group CIO and member of the Executive Committee at KBC Group, building on the solid foundation (Chief Innovation Officer) Erik Luts has laid — where innovation is about making customers’ lives simpler, more relevant and more secure,’ he writes on LinkedIn.
The wise and friendly Kris Vervaet, a civil engineer by training, has had a particularly distinguished career. He started at Proximus, where he quickly rose to become vice president of marketing, sales and channel management. In the spring of 2012, he was recruited by energy service provider EDF Luminus as chief commercial officer. There, too, he rose rapidly through the ranks and became senior vice president of B2B markets in France at the head office in Paris.
Kris Vervaet, a keen cyclist, then moved into the media sector and became CEO of De Persgroep (DPG) Belgium. Shortly afterwards, he became COO and Chief Digital Officer at DPG Netherlands. He has been working at KBC ever since.
