At the beginning of November, Karin Van Hoecke will move to Prague, where she will become the new innovation leader at the Czech bank CSOB, part of the KBC Group. She will replace Michaela Bauer.
Last year, Karin Van Hoecke was named Chief Digital Officer of the Year and widely praised for her achievements in developing the KBC mobile app, which was hailed as the best banking app in the world. She was also responsible for Kate, the artificial intelligence-based digital chatbot. KBC’s Johan Thijs recently announced in the financial results that Kate already does the work of 300 full-time employees.
Karin Van Hoecke has been with KBC for over 26 years and has grown steadily within the company. In her most recent job, she was general manager of digital transformation and data.
